Eximbank General Director was appointed as Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervisory Commission
On August 30, 2013, the Prime Minister issued Decision 1529/QD-TTg, appointing Mr. Truong Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietnam Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) to the position Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervisory Commission. The above decision takes effect from the date of signing.
Mr. Truong Van Phuoc was born in 1959, in Quang Tri, and has a doctorate in economics. Before being appointed as Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervisory Commission, Mr. Phuoc held the following positions: Head of Foreign Exchange Department of Foreign Trade Bank (Vietcombank) Ho Chi Minh City; Deputy Director of Vietcombank Ho Chi Minh City; Director of the State Bank's Foreign Exchange Management Department; Director of the State Bank's Transaction Department; Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Eximbank.
In the industry, Mr. Truong Van Phuoc is known as one of the first people to lay the foundation for foreign currency trading activities in Vietnam, when in charge of this field at Vietcombank Ho Chi Minh City, as well as participating in building Vietnam's future legal framework on foreign exchange.
In the early 2000s, Mr. Truong Van Phuoc was transferred to be General Director of Eximbank. From 2003 - 2008, Mr. Truong Van Phuoc was transferred and appointed as Director of the Foreign Exchange Management Department, then Director of the State Bank's Transaction Department.
Since March 2008, Mr. Truong Van Phuoc returned to be General Director of Eximbank and contributed to making Eximbank one of the leading joint stock commercial banks in Vietnam today.
